Hey Bakers! How y'all doing today? M great. Let's get to business.
So today you finally decided to give baking a try. I get it. I've been there myself 😀
M here to help by sharing some Useful things I learned on my Baking Adventure.
So here are some of my favourite tips for a Beginner Baker.
1. Read the Full Recipe.
Yes, this is the most important tip, not just for a beginner but for every baker. When we are trying someone else's Recipe, it is important that we read the whole recipe first and then give it a shot. There could be some modifications or additions that the author makes in between or at the end of the recipe. You get the point. Let's move on.
2. Check All the Ingredients and Tools Needed.
This is so true 😲 BAKERS, if you want to make your baking experience EASY (to say the least), then you must follow this. It doesn't seem to do much but trust me it'll save you so much time. Also, this way you can know beforehand what ingredients or tools are you missing.
Why don't you try it yourself. At one time, start by putting out the baking ingredients on your kitchen counter first and at another, simply taking the ingredients out as and when needed. Better to try yourself 😊 Lemme know in the comments which you prefer.
3. Bring the Ingredients to Room Temperature.
Most of the recipes call for the butter and eggs to be at room temperature before use. It is a crucial step. Pull them out of your refrigerator and put them on the counter for some time.
If you FORGOT this step, TRY THESE:
For Butter: GRATE IT! It'll come to room temperature much faster.
For Eggs: Simply fill a bowl with warm water (NOT HOT, we don't want them to cook) and put your eggs in it for 10 minutes. They should be good to use.
What are your methods to bring butter and eggs to room temperature?
4. Properly Prepare Your Bakeware.
BAKERS, you don't want to waste time scrubbing hardened burned crumbs off your bakeware, when it can all be avoided just by GREASING the pan or any bakeware properly. Another tip is to just simply use parchment paper.
5. Don't Forget to Preheat Your Oven.
When I was a beginner, I used to forget this crucial step almost every time 😶 But lesson learned and I don't forget it anymore. It is important that the oven is heated properly before you put anything in it.
Almost all recipes suggest the proper pre-heating time and temperature, so follow that.
